Lehman Brothers won accolades for its strong technical ability in structuring transactions, notably in the prime market. Investors and other arrangers alike applauded Lehman’s work, notably Northern Rock’s Whinstone Capital Management no. 2, a synthetic transaction that referenced start-up loans made by Northern Rock PLC to Granite Master Issuer PLC, and the deferred payment obligations of Granite Finance Funding 2 Ltd. The bank was also one of the arrangers on the behemoth Arkle transaction. "A well-oiled machine," noted one impressed originator commenting on the structuring team. The European head of structured finance for Lehman is Amany Attia.
